The event's aim was to raise corporate social responsibility awareness among representatives of DMCC's members - almost 15,000 companies. Delegates discussed and debated how best to action the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Gautam Sashittal, Chief Executive Officer, DMCC, Mahmoud Hesham El Burai, Chairman, UN Global Compact UAE Local Network and Aris Vrettos, Director of Open Programmes and International Markets, University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, all delivered keynote speeches.
In addition, Iris Van Der Veken, Director International Public Affairs, DMCC moderated a focused panel session on sustainability with both Amer Afifi, General Manager, Duracell Middle East, Ayla Bajwa, Founder and Ampuz and Senior Advisor to the United Nations Global Compact UAE Local Network offering their perspective.
The event comes as part of DMCC’s ongoing programme to raise awareness of sustainability, and encourage its member companies to join the global cause.
