UAE Ministry of Economy Becomes Official Partner of ‘New Global Trade Order’ – An Asia House Convention at DMCC

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Economy announced today its official support for the upcoming ‘The New Global Trade Order’ conference, held in partnership between DMCC and Asia House at Almas Tower on Sunday 22 April.

“Some of the world’s leading thinkers on global trade and investment will descend on Dubai to take part in this conference. The objective is clear; discuss, debate and explore the issues that will help business leaders and policymakers better understand – and capitalise on – the new global trade order,” said His Excellency Abdulla al Saleh, Undersecretary for Foreign Trade at the UAE Ministry of Economy.

“As such, announcing our support at UAE Ministry of Economy for this signature event, made perfect strategic sense. We look forward to contributing to this important dialogue, and working with international partners to drive Dubai’s economic growth agenda,” he added.

His Excellency Abdulla Al Saleh will join a long list of distinguished speakers at the event (listed below), which will be followed by a series of private strategic meetings.

“In order to secure the emirate’s economic future, Dubai must continue to be one of the world’s most committed, passionate and active advocates of free trade – especially given the challenges currently facing the global economy,” said Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC.

“The UAE Ministry of Economy is central to effort and their focus on the opportunities presented by the Asia market is well placed. With the policies implemented and the positive approach to attracting business taken, the Ministry has already paved the way for continued and sustainable economic growth. Their support of the conference is invaluable, and the expert insight shared on the day will no doubt be absorbed by audiences around the world,” he added.

The conference will see delegates give keynote speeches and take part in high-level discussions on the future of global trade, the impact of digitalisation, and how China’s Belt and Road Initiative will affect the Middle East – all held on the record and open to media.
